Variable-Input Questions

Each topic contains one or more variable-input questions that change each time they are displayed, which means you can repeat the same style of question with a different calculation each time. Specific values can also be typed into the changing parts of the question and AMaths will calculate the new solution based on the input, complete with graphs and diagrams.

AMaths is divided into two units covering the following topics:

Unit 1

  • Algebra and Functions: functions and graphs, solution of quadratic equations, solution of simultaneous quadratic equations, solution of quadratic inequalities, graph transformations, cubic functions, reciprocal functions.

  • Trigonometry: representation of an angle, trigonometric functions and graphs, trigonometric identities, solving trigonometric equations.
  • Exponentials and Logarithms: exponential functions, logarithmic functions, laws of logarithms, changing the base of a logarithm, solving exponential equations.
  • Differentiation: stationary points of a curve, increasing functions, strictly increasing functions, finding stationary points.
  • Integration: definite integrals, the area under a curve, the trapezium rule.
